“His Story!: Getting to Know the Man on the Cross Through First-Person Interviews” by Robert Esco was featured at the 2025 Bologna Children’s Book Fair

Studio of Books proudly showcased Robert Esco’s book titled, “His Story!: Getting to Know the Man on the Cross Through First-Person Interviews,” during the 2025 Bologna Children’s Book Fair at Bologna Italy on March 31 to April 3, 2025 at Bologna, Italy.

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is an internationally renowned event that brings together publishing professionals, authors, illustrators, and storytellers from across the globe. Focused on the exchange of ideas and the buying and selling of publishing rights, it serves as a vital hub for discovering the next big stories in children’s media. For creators and publishers alike, it’s a place where imagination meets opportunity.

Being part of the Book Gallery at Bologna was a proud moment for Studio of Books. It provided a valuable platform to share a thoughtfully curated selection of titles with a global audience of readers, educators, and publishing professionals.

This international showcase not only highlighted the creativity and heart behind each book, but also opened the door to new opportunities, connections, and collaborations across borders—bringing fresh stories to life for children and families around the world.

Robert Esco enjoys reliving life and learning patience, love, and forgiveness through the eyes of his granddaughter. He lives in Conroe, Texas.

His favorite verse is: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). He believes that whether or not you have ever heard the story of the cross, “His Story!” can open a window for you to discover the extraordinary person on the cross, challenging you to look at your life and what you think of Him.

“His Story!: Getting to Know the Man on the Cross Through First-Person Interviews” by Robert Esco is a moving exploration of Jesus’s life, told through the eyes of the people who knew Him, loved Him, followed Him—or walked away from Him. As a narrator stands before the cross, looking at the beaten and broken man hanging there, he wonders aloud: Who is this man?

One by one, the people who crossed paths with Jesus speak up. A mother who watched her son live and die. A man once tormented by demons, now at peace. A woman society shunned, but whom Jesus treated with dignity. A rich man who turned away in sadness. A stranger who ended up carrying the very cross on which Jesus was crucified.

Through these deeply personal, fictionalized interviews, His Story! invites readers to see Jesus not just as a figure in history—but as someone real, compassionate, and life-changing. These stories remind us that to know who Jesus is, we only need to listen to the people whose lives He touched.
