James Olds was born and raised as a military brat, mostly in southeastern Virginia. Growing up, he had attended church and both of his parents was a pastor out on the West Coast. He too was a retired military officer.

So, his path was almost ordained for him as to which way he was to go. But he always did things a little different than everybody else. This took him down a little bit rougher road to get to where he was going. Eventually, however, he too became a military officer.

During his tour of duty, he spent most of it with the 101st Airborne Division. So, he was rather molded along that style of leadership. He even spent time in the U.S. Army Ranger School, until a major knee injury knocked me out on graduating. I always regretted never going back to finish.

His website features his book, “It Will Be Okay.” This book is a powerful testament to resilience and faith, chronicling the author’s journey from military service to surviving multiple sclerosis and overcoming personal struggles. Born into a military family in southeastern Virginia, Olds’ life took unexpected turns, including a major knee injury that ended his dreams of completing the U.S. Army Ranger school and multiple tumultuous marriages. However, it was his diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 2007 that truly tested his strength and faith.

Despite facing physical and emotional challenges, including a life-threatening attack by his own soulmate, Olds found solace and guidance in his spirituality, ultimately embracing a new path of healing and forgiveness. Through his book, Olds shares his story of redemption, offering readers a message of hope and perseverance in the face of life’s most daunting obstacles.
